Day 9 – Puanigharat to Taluka and Sankri

After breakfast, we packed up and trekked to Taluka. It was an easy day, though I had a minor fall. Some were worried about me, but others were more concerned about my DSLR! Luckily, neither of us got hurt. Rekha gave me her usual half-concerned, half-amused look, and we laughed it off.

We took a break at the Maggi point and crossed paths with trekkers and mules. One mule got too close to the edge of the trail, but Rekha and I stuck together and regained our balance.

After an hour, we reached Taluka, the last point of the trek. We were relieved and proud. While waiting for jeeps, we took pictures with local kids and enjoyed tea.

The ride to Sankri was bumpy, and Rekha and I sat on the SUV roof, singing along with the group. At Sankri, we checked into a hotel and watched the sunset from the balcony. The evening was filled with laughter and stories, especially Dhaval’s Pondicherry tale and Rekha’s witty remarks. After dinner, there was a certificate ceremony where we shared experiences. One speech stood out, highlighting how the trek brought together people from different backgrounds and ages, forming unexpected friendships(guess ? ☺).

After the party, Rekha and I headed back to our room for more chit chats. As we prepared to leave next morning, I realized how much I appreciated the comfort of a hot shower and a cozy bed.
